About Laura

Compassionate, kind, resepectful, honest, trustworthy and accepting - this is who I am in my personal and professional life. I do not like to see people suffer and I truly believe nobody should suffer alone or in silence. Reaching your goals, healing and living a life you have only hoped for is as important to me as it is to you. This is why I am a counsellor and will be honoured to help you find wellness in your life.

EXPERIENCE

I received my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2004 from UBC. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #2588) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. During my 20 years experience in counselling I have had the opportunity to work with adults of all ages on various personal challenges related to trauma, abusive relationships, childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, grief and loss, relationship problems, and mental health issues. As an Indigenous person, being able to help other Indigenous Peoples has been a priority and focus for me as a counsellor. I have extensive experience working with Indigenous Peoples on issues related to Residential Schools, trauma and abuse. I am trained in EMDR and have completed Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. I am a service provider for the First Nations Health Authority, Crime Victims Assistance Program and ICBC.
